Hi, I’m Katy Hancock…
I love telling stories.
As a BBC trained investigative journalist and producer/ director, I have a passion for storytelling, an obsessive attention to detail and a keen fascination for what makes audiences tick.
After leaving London to bring up our family in Bath, I have spent over a decade working as a freelance writer, creative and strategist. My journalistic roots run deep and I thrive on producing content and campaigns that engage, inspire and instigate behavioural change.
I love nothing more than working with clients to creatively tell their stories and future-proof their businesses.
My most recent work has:
helped sustainable eco-businesses grow,
inspired over 350 B&NES students to create sustainable fashion designs,
increased national charity fundraising yields,
successfully lobbied national government,
changed national curriculum requirements and led to over 83% of UK schools training their secondary students in life-saving CPR.
It’s not all work though; I have two children, love swimming, cooking and running and over a decade of experience as a school governor has made me a committed campaigner for improvements in education.

I specialise in PR, copywriting and content marketing. I love working closely with clients to turn their big goals into an exciting reality.
I started my career in publishing — managing Marketing & PR campaigns for book brands and high-profile authors.
I’ve spent the last 5 years as a freelancer, drawing on my commercial experience while enjoying being my own boss. I work with clients across a range of sectors including homes & lifestyle; business; education; publishing and health. I regularly work with Marketing & PR agencies, lending an extra pair of hands to their in-house teams.
My most recent work includes:
PR coverage for a new author in Forbes, the FT, CNBC and Grazia, which significantly raised her profile and brought in high-value new business.
National newspaper feature coverage for a small business client which brought in more new enquiries than they’ve ever had previously.
Social media content creation that significantly increased the client’s engagement and following on Instagram.
I live in Berkshire with my husband and two kids. I spend my spare time running, socialising, reading and trying to stay afloat on a SUP on The Thames. I’m at my happiest outdoors cradling a frothy coffee…
